During the course of their studies, students have the opportunity to do pre-professional internships in the 7 restaurants of Universidad San Francisco de Quito: Cafetería No Sea Malito, Restaurante Vía Bonita, Amore Mio, Pirámide Crepe Station, Panadería Ambrosía, Epikus Catering Boutique and Restaurante Marcus. This allows students to acquire their first professional experience with real clients in a controlled work environment in which they put into practice the knowledge acquired during their cooking, service and management classes.

All these practices are carried out under the guidance of our chefs and teachers. As they continue to advance in their careers, students must create suggestions or menus that will be available to the public.

External internships

In order for our students to have greater exposure to the labor field, the College of Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Tourism has established alliances with the most important companies in the industry in Ecuador: hotels, inns, restaurants, travel agencies, airlines, among others. As part of their studies, students must complete an internship in one of the establishments of their choice, with the opportunity to create links with industry leaders.

“I decided to study Hospitality because I saw the opportunity to promote my country as a tourist destination offering high-quality services. I chose USFQ because of the prestige it has as a University, its facilities, and the openness you have as a student to get involved in the environment through internships from the first year.”

- Dayana Herrera -

"I studied Hospitality in England and the USA and finishing my studies in Ecuador was presented as a very good option. Upon learning about USFQ, I saw that their curricula and academic opportunities were what I was looking for. At USFQ, I was able to revalidate many of the subjects that I took and finish my program in 2 and a half years."
